Our History

The South Brevard Debutante Assembly Committee, Dorothy Chappell Mitterling Chapter, was organized in 1969 for the purpose of annually presenting a given number of qualified young ladies and a select group of their family and friends at a formal Debutante Assembly Ball, providing them with one of the most memorable evenings in a young lady's lifetime.  In addition to the Ball itself, the Debutante Assembly Committee (DAC) offers debutantes a modified guidance program through its Amenities and Protocol Committee, including business and social etiquette seminar, college preparation activities, event planning workshops, and community service.  This experience provides opportunities that will allow the debutante to broaden her perspectives educationally, socially, and culturally.  We train the next generation of community leaders.

Each year the DAC attempts to invite young women from the community to become debutantes.  It is the committee's intent to recognize and honor girls who have exemplified the qualities of commitment to family, school, and community.community.
