Becoming a Debutante

    The South Brevard Debutantes are young women selected for their Outstanding Accomplishments and Exceptional Character. Each year the Debutante Assembly Committee (DAC) invites a select group of qualified young women from the community to participate in the Debutante program. It is DAC’s intent to recognize and honor girls who have exemplified the qualities of Commitment to Family, School, and Community. Debutantes possess strong leadership qualities, good moral character and stand out within their school environment.

  • The Program

    Be a young woman in the junior year of high school in Central or South Brevard

    Be an exceptional student with a respectable GPA

    Be involved in one or more clubs or sports within the school or community

    Exhibit good moral character including choosing to be drug and alcohol free as well as demonstrating respect and integrity in social media choices. Must remain that way throughout the tenure of the program and sign an Honor Contract

    Exhibit a commitment to her community through community involvement

    Stand out within her school and community as a role model

  • Activities

    The Debutante will participate in a fifteen-month experience of opportunities that will allow the Debutante to broaden her perspective educationally, socially and culturally. The Debutante Program trains the next generation of community leaders.

    The Debutante experience includes the Mother Daughter Luncheon, Event Planning Seminar, Lifestyle and Social Etiquette Seminar, Serene Harbor Domestic Violence Program, Father Daughter Ballroom Dance Lessons, Preparation for College Seminar, as well as the Debutante Socials that also function as donation events for our the local women's shelter, Serene Harbor.

    ​ The Debutante Program culminates with the Debutante Presentation at the Formal Debutante Ball. This magical event has been described as one of the most memorable evenings in a young lady’s lifetime.
